Being proud sponsors of the charity Magic of Milly, DHP are delighted to be supporting the Magic of Milly Rainbow Ball, which will be held on 20th October 2018. The funds raised for this event will go towards helping children in need of emergency care at the Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and we want to encourage you to attend for an amazing and uplifting evening.
In March 2013, Milly Hill was born, weighing 4lb and 13oz, with a rare congenital condition. She spent much of her early life surrounded by hospital workers, finally being allowed home after 15 months. Her time there was joyful but short; only 8 months later, in January 2015, she was readmitted for surgery and passed away from post-operative complications.
In the wake of this tragedy, Milly’s mum Emma decided to turn her grief into something that could lift up others in need. She founded Magic of Milly so that families going through similar struggles could be supported, and the workers that aided them could be equipped to help.
Thanks to the tireless efforts of Emma and others, Magic of Milly has managed to raise almost £100,000 for the paediatric intensive care unit at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. This incredible gift has directly contributed to the care of children like Milly, along with their families.
The inaugural Magic of Milly Rainbow Ball was held in July 2016, and it was a rousing success with 250 attendees and £34,000 raised. The event was followed in 2017 by Strictly for Milly, which managed to raise another £30,000 in a single night. DHP were privileged to support Strictly for Milly, and we’re delighted to sponsor another event for this worthy charity.
